Society: Egyptian Society of Applied Microbiology has been founded since 1959. The society is a member of international Organization of Microbiological Societies.
Objectives: The Society of Applied Microbiology aims to develop applied Microbiology sciences in different fields (Agriculture, Industry and Environment) related to national economy and development.

Objectives of the society could be summerized as follows:

  • Facilitate contact between workers in different scientific area of microbiology.
  • Held conferences, scientific and culture symposium.
  • Editing Egyptian Journal of Microbiology.
  • Scientific cooperation with international and regional organizations.
  • Organizing training courses in different areas of Microbiology.
  • Membership of the International Organization for Biotechnology and Bioengineering.

    To join the organization:
  • 10 LE Annual membership fee.
  • Annual fee should be paid to:
Prof.Dr. Nabil Omar. Soils, Water and Environment Res. Inst. Agric. Res. Center 9 EL-Gamaa Street, Giza, Egypt.

Achievements:


  • Organized eleven scientific conferences (1965 -2003). The twelfth conference on microbiology will be held (18 -20 March, 2007).
  • Organized three regional training courses in Cairo (1972, 1976, and 1982).
  • Held annually two scientific symposium in different area of microbiology (Biosafety, bio diversity, industrial fermentation, food microbiology, microbial toxins, recycling of solid wastes, biofertilizers and biological control of plant diseases........etc).
